eClaims Running Again After Glitch

The eClaims server was down from late Wednesday, March 7 until Monday, March 12, 2007. This was caused by an automatic update and reboot of the server that was done unexpectedly and remotely by a software company.

Because of safegurards and backups, with minor exceptions related to work done around the time of the crash, we have been able to save the data.

The data is being carefully inspected which has caused some delay in processing them. We appreciate your patience during the inspection.

Now that eClaims has been re-opened, it would be helpful for attorneys who submitted an eClaim between Sunday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 7 to check the claim to make sure the entries are correct.

If you have any questions, please email Jay Kohorn at CAP-LA.

To further improve the infrastructure and security of eClaims, the administrators will need to take eClaims off line a few times in the next few weeks. They will notify eClaim users of their work schedule on the login page of eClaims, providing as much lead time as they can. This could occur as early as Monday, March 19. The upgrades include new hardware and software as well as new procedures designed to ensure better and continuous service in the future.

As we all know, technology is not flawless. However, we are doing our best to keep the integrity and security of the eClaims very high. Thank you for your understanding.
